The Computer Is Defeated By…

The paper. :) I am strongly convinced that the paper – as a medium – is several times more powerful in carrying your thoughts than a computer could ever wish to be. The problem with using computers is that you get distracted a lot, in fact, I am writing this post while watching a video at the same time ().

The ability to do several things begets procrastination which in turn makes you less productive. “How should I do it?”
The next time you have an assignment, do not start out by going to the computer but instead try to find a nice little room and spend some time there together with your simple notepad. You will be amazed at the results! (Even though you now do it in two steps – first the notes then the computer – it is still much more powerful than using a computer alone). Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself!

  1. Yes I agree! However I also tend to think that you are further removed from the learning/memory process when you try to study via computer. Whereas on paper you are actually using your hand to write your thoughts, seems more personal.

You would not learn to play an organ via computer, so why not have book and paper in front of you to help the learning process?
