This is a little something that came to my mind quite recently. The following is NOT based on any research, just a simple logical conclusion I made a little while ago.

Still, I think it’s worth a thought.
If you are anything like me, you enjoy using to do lists, reminders and alarm clocks. Why? Because those are somewhat proven methods to aid a person, in case he or she forgets. The question that came to my mind was, do these types of reminders really help you in the long run?

If you use a calendar for instance, that would mean that you are temporarily freeing your mind from the responsibility of keeping appointments, right? If you do this constantly, would this not effect your memory and make it less independent?

I’m imagining this insecure little boy who always raises his hand to ask about every little issue, he has to rely on external aid.

Hmmm, I have no scientific proof for this… Just a few scattered thoughts. Don’t let this stop you from those precious aids, they still help one become organized. How nice!
