This Weeks Quote #6

June 21, 2010  |  Education Quotes  |  Share

We haven’t done this in a while but lo and behold here it is. It’s time for yet another educational quote, this time from the mainland of Africa. Today we’ll take a look a proverb for change.

“He who does not know one thing knows another.”

- Kenyan proverb

Don’t assume someone is ignorant just because they didn’t know a small piece of information. It is possible they know a lot of things besides this one thing. Also besides this trivial point there’s a greater much more lucid profound hiding between the words. You see, to be ignorant you have to chose to fill your head with trivial and useless information. Ignorance is thus not as much the notion of not knowing as it is the notion of knowing useless things.

Don’t be ignorant, learn useful things instead.
