3 Easy Tips to Never Forget an Assignment Again

1 min read

We are all human beings (as far as I know), and we tend to forget a lot of things, a little too much for our own good, I'm afraid. So it's time to roll up our sleeves and tackle this problem once and for all. Are you with me?

Here is how to defeat forgetfulness in three easy steps.

1. Pay attention

You will be amazed at how much more you remember if you really pay attention when the information is first given. A student who hears something while paying attention has gained a lot compared to a student who was absent, physically or mentally.

Isn't this a contradiction of the idea that people learn in different ways?

No, not really. Some people may find it easier to read information than to hear it, but they will still benefit from listening closely, even if they benefit a little less. Concentration is a key to learning, so don't ever lose it! For more on this, see how to concentrate.

2. Remind yourself by any (acceptable) means possible

If you know that you tend to forget things, be sure to set up reminders for yourself. Use task lists, sticky notes, a paper planner or reminders on your phone. Needless to say, you have to arm yourself with the tools that actually work for you.

3. Establish a base

You need to establish a place where you can do your work and studies in peace. It has to be a place where you feel comfortable and are not easily disturbed (for example, by "studying" while chatting online). Mentally label this new base as a work environment and a place of diligence and patience.
